Yashwantrao Chavan was the sculptor of united Maharashtra, architect of modern Maharashtra, Deputy Prime Minister of India and the first Chief Minister of Maharashtra state. His contribution in the political, social and economic fields in the country has been invaluable. Every year Yashwantrao Chavan Pratishthan recognizes outstanding contributions made by individuals or institutions by way of a National Award.
The Pratishthan invites nominations for this year’s National Award to be given to a person or an organization who has done substantial and pioneering work in the field of national integration, preservation of constitutional values and contribution to social and economic development of India. Award is in the form of Rs.5 lakh and a certificate of honour. Details in respect of this Award are available on Pratishthan’s Website. Some of the past luminaries recognized by this Award are – Dr. Jayant V. Narlikar, Shri R. K. Laxman, Ms. Mahasweta Devi, Marshal of Indian Air Force Arjan Singh, Shri Ratan Tata, Shri. Azim Premji and others.
The award will be given to the individuals having Indian citizenship, or organizations registered in India. Recommendations for this award should come from other individuals or other organizations. These nominations should be received at the Yashwantrao Chavan Centre by 25 October 2023.
